A national campaign launched in July 2018 to drive sales of our #roastedforacause coffee blend encouraged customers to purchase a 250g bag of Mastertons Chipembere Rhino Blend, with R5 from every purchase being donated to the Chipembere Rhino Foundation (CRF) to aid their rhino conservation efforts.

At the close of this hugely successful promotion, Ron Verheij was randomly selected as the competition winner, fittingly on World Rhino Day, 22nd September 2018.

Ron and partner won a 2-night, all-inclusive stay at HillsNek Safari Camp situated on the picturesque Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. This intimate family-run lodge set on the banks of the Bushman’s River offers an extraordinary safari experience where privacy and personalised attention are the hallmarks of every stay.

Ron and his wife Lynda enjoyed two game drives per day with their dedicated game ranger, while staying in Hillsnek’s luxury safari tents. Ron described the trip as an unforgettable “trip of a lifetime” and was fortunate enough to witness Rhino out in their natural habitat, amongst other wildlife.

Funding received through the sale of Mastertons Chipembere Rhino Coffee Blend is used to establish and maintain anti-poaching K9 teams in the Eastern Cape while also training anti-poaching K9s to track and apprehend suspected poachers, and to provide invaluable assistance at poaching crime scenes.
