☕ Use Quality Coffee, Expertly Roasted: Not all coffees are made equally. Using sight, sound and smell to roast our coffee to perfection, we strive to bring out the unique characteristics of each and every coffee bean through our time-honoured roasting method.
💧 Water Matters: Use filtered water heated to 90-97°C. This temperature range extracts the best flavours from the coffee grounds.
📏 Perfect Ratio: Use a scale for consistency and repeatability. The ideal coffee-to-water ratio is 1:18 (aka The Golden Ratio). That's about 28 grams of coffee for every 500 milliliters of water.
🔄 Even Saturation: Pour water evenly over the coffee grounds in a slow, circular motion if using the Mastertons 1Cup Filter Coffee Maker. Try to maintain a laminar flow rate for less turbulence. ⏱️ Brew Time: Aim for a brew time of about 3-4 minutes. Too quick or too slow can lead to under-extracted or over-extracted coffee.
💡 Pro Tip: Rinse your filter with hot water before adding coffee grounds. This removes any papery taste and preheats your brewing equipment
